The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I am medical director of liver transplant at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). After graduating from Notre Dame in 1984 I completed a masters of science in bioengineering from Penn State and a doctorate in medicine from University of Pittsburgh in 1990. After completing my internal medicine residency and gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the University of Minnesota in 1996, I joined the faculty of UAB. I volunteered on various committees for United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) and for the American Society of Transplantation (AST). When I am not caring for patients I am enjoying my family. My wife Liz is a University of Dayton graduate (1984). I am head soccer coach for my three sons' teams. My goal for the teams is that we will win more than we lose and all of the players will play soccer next year.
